Travel News Perception of Baja California Mexico

It's been said that: "Perception is the truth as we know it." Unfortunately, the perception many Americans have of Mexico has been slanted in an increasingly downward direction in recent years. Tony Brogdon, founder of Ground Floor Technology, Baja California, Mexico is hoping to change the perception of both Baja California and Mexico. He believes there are probably many reasons for the negative ideas most Americans have of Mexico, but one of the main causes is the sensational journalism promoted in the United States.
On the contrary, visitors will find the Mexican people to be some of the kindest and
most hospitable people of any kind in the world. In addition, Mexico is one of the most beautiful countries.
Tony has been coming to Mexico for business and pleasure for over 30 years and recently moved to Baja California full-time. He hopes to improve how Mexico is perceived by Americans in a similar way to how he helped to change the perception of the sport of skydiving. Tony was the main thrust in incorporating skydiving into the opening ceremonies of the 1988 Olympics in Seoul Korea.
Prior to bringing in 76 skydivers from 22 countries the perception of skydivers was that they were crazed daredevils with death wishes. After what billions of people saw worldwide, this perception of skydiving was changed forever, and skydivers were now considered to be sportsmen and athletes.
Also, in 1990 with the invitation of the President of Tourism in Tijuana, William Yu,
Tony brought 50 skydivers into the opening of the Tijuana's 100th Birthday Fair. Willie and Tony have been friends for over Thirty years and through this friendship, Tony has developed a love and appreciation for Baja California, Mexico, its culture and its unique way of life. With a shared love for all that Mexico has to offer, Tony and Willie have begun a journey to bring new medical technologies to Baja California.
Already many U.S. citizens cross the border to Mexico for lower-cost of dental work and plastic surgery, but there are many other procedures which are available and much less expensive in Mexico. It is not common knowledge, but the quality of medical care in Mexico is excellent and many U.S. doctors are educated and trained in Mexico.
Now, Willie and Tony find themselves in the position to be involved in promoting the
unique opportunity that Baja California Medical Tourism brings. By bringing people here for medical treatments, and providing them excellent housing while they are being treated and convalescing, they are hoping to change the perception of Mexico one person at a time.
In addition to cost, there are treatments available in Mexico that are unavailable across
the border due to politics, paperwork, and just the time and red tape involved getting
treatments approved in the United States. One of the things Tony appreciates most about Mexico is that you can still have the type freedom and lifestyle that was in the U.S. Fifty years ago.
He believes it's a shame that many Americans are missing out on such a wonderful and
reasonable vacation spot right across the border. Working hand in hand with Lillian
Merida, publisher of Frontier Doctors, and Kimberly Wherley of Playas De Baja Realty in a true groundbreaking fashion, they hope to promote the quality health care Baja provides with State of the Art Medical technologies. They will offer a complete package of transportation, beachfront homes while receiving treatment changing the current perception the U.S. has of Mexico.
Currently medical facilities available are Family Care Centers in Tijuana, a clinic with
quality Mexican doctors at affordable prices and dental services offered at a tremendous savings compared with the U.S. for equal or higher quality treatment in most cases. In the future, Ground Floor Technology plans to bring an umbilical-cord stem cell bank to Mexico offering the highest quality stem cell treatment available in the world. GFT is also working with innovative technology from the US, Korea and India. These new treatments combined with Medical Tourism should put Baja California in the undisputed forefront of Medical Technology. They are planning to market these packages through various forms of media to change the current negative perception back to the reality of what Baja California, Mexico truly offers. It is Tony and Willie's goal to convince people around the world to listen to the people who live in the country, both from the U.S. and from Mexico instead of some media's agenda to sell more advertising by sensational journalism . If the real truth were known of all the opportunities Baja California, Mexico offers, the new gold rush in lifestyle living would be in Baja for many years to come.
